More than fifty young people from different European countries participate in a digital youth training course at the local StartUP HUB – Centre for Entrepreneurship Development, Adult and Vocational Education and Training through the Erasmus+ programme. Yesterday morning, they also attended an international conference, where they discussed with local young people how different skills can be developed through youth work.

Éva Grüman, President of InnoEdu – Innovation in Adult Education, said that this year, in the European Year of Youth, the European Commission is focusing on providing as many opportunities as possible for young people, highlighting the important role young people play in shaping the future. “We thought we could showcase locally what opportunities the Erasmus+ programme offers local young people, while our foreign guests can showcase good examples that have been implemented. The meeting is a good opportunity to exchange experiences and we hope that new partnerships will be formed.”

Kelemen Szilárd, president of HARIT Association – co-organizer of the conference – indicated that over the last ten years, more than five hundred young people from Covasna county have managed to participate in exchanges and youth programs abroad through their organization. “We think this is extremely important, because these experiences are unique and help to develop young people’s skills”. He mentioned that a lot of emphasis is put on promoting the Erasmus+ programme because it gives a lot of opportunities to young people.

Yesterday’s conference was attended by 60 young people from Hungary, Greece, Estonia, Lithuania, Latvia, Italy and Turkey.
