This time we present a young entrepreneur who is determined to put her creativity and professional skills to work in her own business. Bánffy Barbara, a product design graduate, is opening a new chapter in her life by starting a business in interior design product development and manufacturing in Covasna County. After several years of working as an employee, she felt it was time to take the leap and turn her own ideas into reality.

Please introduce yourself and tell us more about you and your business!

I have always been drawn to design and the world of creative creation. I graduated in product design, and for a long time I have dreamed of bringing my own ideas to life. My goal is to create unique, functional, and aesthetically pleasing interior design products that add real value to people’s everyday lives. Until now, I have worked as an employee, but I want to test myself as an entrepreneur and finally realize the plans that have so far existed only on paper.

In your opinion, what qualities are essential for someone who wants to start their own business?

I believe flexibility is the most important quality, as entrepreneurship requires constant adaptation. Courage and ambition are also essential — you have to believe in what you do and not be afraid of challenges.

What was your biggest motivation for starting this journey?

I have always wanted to be independent and follow my own path. For me, work should not only be a means of living but also a source of joy and fulfillment.

How did you find out about this opportunity, and what does this support mean to you? How will you use the funding?

I came across this opportunity through an online advertisement, and I immediately felt it was the right time to take action. I will use the grant to set up my workshop and purchase the necessary equipment — including CNC machines, which are essential for the production process.

How does social responsibility appear in your business?

It is important to me that my work also creates social value. I want to run my business with a child-centered approach and, in the long term, design and produce educational toys for disadvantaged children, as well as organize creative workshops for them. I believe design goes beyond aesthetics — it can contribute to development, learning, and shaping a sense of community.

What message would you give to young people who want to start their own business in the future?

I would tell them to think things through carefully, but once they’ve made the decision, to go for it with confidence. The perfect moment rarely comes — experience is gained along the way. The most important thing is to have a clear vision and believe in it wholeheartedly.
