This time, we bring you the story of Ilyés Róbert–Csaba, who is launching his own business in Micușeni, Covasna County – a metalworking workshop specializing in the production of gates, fences, and various metal structures, backed by many years of professional experience. After working abroad for several years, Róbert decided to return home to be closer to his family, and with the support of the SES Program, he can now continue his craft under his own name.

Please introduce yourself and tell us about your business!

I have been working with metal gates and fences for a long time. I spent years working abroad, but eventually decided to return home for the sake of my children. When I came back, I saw that there is strong demand for high-quality workmanship here as well, and that it is possible to make a fair living from it. I had been thinking about starting my own business for quite some time, and this project gives me the opportunity to continue this work independently, under my own brand.

What qualities do you think are essential for someone starting their own business

Good communication skills and a strong work ethic are essential. Whatever you promise, you must follow through. It’s not enough to accept a job – you have to deliver it properly and on time. Without perseverance, diligence and reliability, it’s difficult to stay in business in the long run.

What motivated you the most to take this step?

My main motivation was ensuring a stable livelihood without having to leave the country again. I want to build a future for my family here, at home, and starting my own business is a major step toward that. I want to stay here and create everything that matters to us locally.

How did you hear about this opportunity, and how will you use the support?

I came across the program on Facebook and started looking into it. The financial support will be invested in developing the workshop: purchasing machinery, tools and materials needed for high-quality metalwork.

How does social responsibility appear in your business?

I plan to employ two workers from disadvantaged backgrounds. I also want to support the community by offering discounted or even free gate construction for low-income households and local schools. For elderly clients, I aim to provide my services at affordable prices. I believe these initiatives can bring real value to the community.

What message would you send to young people who want to start their own business?

Have perseverance and dare to begin. The future belongs to those who take action. If you truly want something and are willing to work hard for it, success will follow.
