This time, we present the story of Molnár Ákos, who, with the support of the SES Program, is working on the creation of a new community-focused cultural center in Târgu Secuiesc. The initiative aims to develop an open space where art, creativity, community experiences, and modern forms of work can coexist in harmony, brought to life together with a dedicated and creative team.

Introduce yourself and tell us about yourself and your business!

The project is centered around establishing a cultural hub in Târgu Secuiesc, developed not by one person alone, but together with an entire team. We are all “artistic souls,” which is why our goal is to cover multiple creative fields. The center will host a theater workshop, spaces for painting and digital creation, as well as a dedicated area for digital nomads and creative professionals who need a place to work. Our main objective is community building: we want young people to find inspiration, job opportunities, and meaningful connections at home, without feeling the need to look for all of this abroad.

What qualities do you consider necessary for someone starting a business?

I believe prior experience is essential, for example in event organization, as it greatly supports the practical implementation phase. For me, having multiple qualifications is a significant advantage, since they complement each other well. In addition, strong problem-solving skills are indispensable, because running a business constantly brings new situations and challenges.

What was the biggest motivation that led you to take this step?

What motivated me most was the increasingly visible lack of vibrant community spaces. People spend less time together, many no longer feel comfortable engaging in community life, and public spaces have become outdated in many places. We want to bring this spirit back by creating a place where people, regardless of age, can meet, connect, create, and think together.

Where did you learn about this opportunity, and how is the social dimension reflected in the project?

Several friends of mine successfully took part in similar programs in the past, and their experiences and encouragement motivated me to apply as well. The project is built on a strong community-based vision: members who hold a club card will not be mere participants, but active contributors to the center’s operation. They will have a say in decisions regarding future development and how the collective contribution is reinvested. Beyond this, we aim to organize camps, festivals, and free programs for people who have not yet had access to comparable cultural or community initiatives, while also offering activities that encourage a healthy lifestyle and promote contemporary art.

What message do you have for those who are just starting out on the entrepreneurial path?

It takes a lot of patience and perseverance, but the effort you invest will pay off in time. It’s important not to think in the short term—truly valuable initiatives are built step by step, with a clear long-term vision.
