This time, we bring you the story of Rita Lakatos, who is establishing a playground in Sfântu Gheorghe where everyone from toddlers to teenagers can find exciting ways to relax and have fun.

Please introduce yourself and tell us about your business!

My business is a unique playground that breaks with tradition: I don’t just want to attract the little ones, but I also want to “rescue” teenagers from their screens. I am developing two main categories: for the older kids, I offer lasertag and an illuminated dance floor, where birthday parties can become true community experiences. The younger children can look forward to a miniature library, a shopping center, and a fire station, where they can play safely either with their parents or slightly independently. Additionally, I am creating an outdoor playground for open-air recreation. The idea has been maturing in me for years: the thought was born with my first child, the determination came with the second, and the time for realization finally arrived with the third.

What qualities do you think an entrepreneur must have?

I believe a good entrepreneur is both a dreamer and a realist. It is important to dare to dream within the boundaries of reality.

What was your biggest motivation for starting this business?

Honestly, the timing was finally right: during my maternity leave, I finally had the opportunity to focus on planning, and this funding source opened up at just the right time. The additional financial support was indispensable for launching a project of this scale.

How did you hear about this opportunity, and how does the social mission appear in your project?

I am always on the lookout for opportunities, and I have noticed this among my friends. As a special education teacher, I consider it a personal mission to provide a safe environment for students from special needs schools. They often don’t have the chance to visit places like this, so my goal is to ensure that children from disadvantaged backgrounds don’t miss out on the joy of play either.

What message would you give to those who are thinking about starting a business now?

My message is: be brave! This opportunity is truly accessible, and the requirements are not nearly as complicated as they might seem at first glance. Take advantage of the fact that you can achieve great things with a small personal contribution!
