Introduce yourself and tell us about your business!

I have always had a strong connection with nature, and gardening has always been one of my passions. While tending to my garden and orchard, I realized how much time and effort constant maintenance requires. I saw more and more elderly people and holiday homeowners who couldn’t manage their gardens alone. Often, the first day of their vacation was spent cleaning and arranging the yard.

What motivated you the most to start this business?

The desire to finally work for myself was the biggest motivation. It’s the only way I can make the most of my knowledge and abilities. I have always enjoyed the feeling of freedom and satisfaction that comes with a job well done, like when an unkempt garden is transformed into a clean, beautiful space and the client is happy.

What qualities do you think are necessary for someone who wants to start their own business?

I believe that success depends on ambition and optimism above all else. You also need patience and flexibility because unexpected situations always arise that you have to adapt to. Most importantly, though, you must keep your goal in sight and not lose confidence, even if the beginning is difficult.

How did you learn about this opportunity, and how will you use the financial support?

I found it on Facebook. I tried to apply for the €25,000 funding in the past, but I didn’t succeed. Nevertheless, I continued to follow the page and the presented projects. When I saw the new call, I knew I had to try again. I will use the funding to purchase necessary equipment for the activity, such as lawn mowers, hedge trimmers, and cutting tools.

What advice would you give to people who want to start their own business?

Have courage! Don’t be afraid of the conditions or the numerous requirements. The beginning is always difficult, but it’s important not to give up. Even if circumstances are sometimes less than ideal, nothing changes if we stand still. Those who take action have a chance to progress. Every journey begins with the first step, and with perseverance, you will get where you want to be.
