This time, we present the story of Komporály Hajnalka, who is launching her own business in the commune of Bățanii Mari. She is opening a modern village shop with a self-service system, designed to offer affordable prices, easy access, and a more convenient shopping experience for the entire community. The idea was born within the family: it was her son and daughter-in-law who encouraged her to take the next step and turn this project into a real business.

Introduce yourself and tell us about you and your new business!

The idea for this business came from my family—specifically from my son and daughter-in-law. They noticed that there is a growing need in the village for a well-stocked store with reasonable prices, making everyday shopping easier for local residents. Many people have to travel to other towns to buy their groceries because village shops are often too expensive. We want to change this and create a place where everyone can find what they need at fair prices. My son already owns a hardware store, so the world of commerce is not new to our family.

What qualities do you think someone needs in order to start their own business?

First of all: courage and perseverance. Running a business requires a lot of work and responsibility, which means communication skills and proper knowledge of the field are also essential. You have to believe in what you do and not let challenges discourage you.

How did you learn about this opportunity, and how will you use the financial support?

I learned about the program from my children—they saw the information online and encouraged me to apply. The financial support will be used to set up the shop, purchase stock, and buy the equipment needed for daily operations. It is important to me that the store is not only a place to shop, but also a real support for the community. There are many low-income pensioners and large families in the village, and we want to help them—by offering home delivery or assisting with shopping, for example.

What message would you give to those who want to start their own business?

Think everything through carefully, but remember the saying: you can’t win if you don’t take risks. Don’t be afraid of new opportunities—fortunately, today there are many forms of support available. What matters most is to trust yourself and take advantage of the chances that come your way.
