With the signing of the financing contracts, the path for the winners to truly turn their ideas into reality has opened. In the coming weeks, we will introduce those who had the courage to build their own business. This time, we bring you the story of Molnár Szidónia Sarolta, who is working on opening a mixed goods store in the locality of Moacșa, Covasna County – in partnership with two associates, building on the success of an already functional bar.
Please introduce yourself and tell us about you and your business!
Trade and the hospitality sector have always been close to my heart, so when the opportunity arose, I didn’t hesitate: I wanted my own shop. We currently have a bar, and now I felt it was the right time to expand the activity. I’ve been thinking for a long time about opening a mixed goods store on the main road in Moacșa, where the villagers can find everything they need daily. Last year, I already wanted to start this project, but the costs for fitting out and equipment were too high. Now, thanks to the financial support, the dream can become a reality, and a modern and welcoming store will soon open its doors.
What qualities do you think are necessary for someone who wants to start their own business?
The most important thing is perseverance. There will be tough days when you feel like giving up, but even then, you have to lift your head and keep going. If you are determined, you can overcome any obstacle. There is no overnight success in business – it requires patience, hard work, and faith in what you are doing.
Where did you find out about this opportunity, and what will you use the financial support for?
A friend told me about it after receiving a message regarding the program. I checked the details and knew right away that this was the chance I’d been waiting for. I will use the funding to furnish and equip the store: refrigerators, shelves, a cash register – everything necessary for a modern and well-organized shop to operate.
How is social responsibility reflected in your business?
For me, this business is not just an economic opportunity but also a way to give something back to the community. I want the store to be not only a place for shopping but also a support for those in need. In the surrounding villages, we want to help disadvantaged families by preparing packages for social aid beneficiaries and children, and we offer support to the elderly when they need it.
What message do you have for people who want to start their own business?
They shouldn’t rush and shouldn’t try to do everything at once. Things fall into place gradually, step by step. There is no point in stressing beforehand, because if you are persistent, everything will be solved. The most important thing is to believe in yourself and not give up, even if the first attempt is unsuccessful.
