This time, you can learn more about Attila Bartalis, who has ventured into a high-demand profession with very few specialists: he has established a professional well-drilling business in Gheorgheni.

Please introduce yourself and tell us about your business!

My business focuses on well drilling, a field whose importance I experienced firsthand. On three separate occasions, I needed a drilling specialist, but each time I had to wait more than six months for the job to be done. I realized that, nationwide, very few companies offer this service while the demand is massive. That is why I decided to step in and fill this gap in the market.

What qualities do you think an entrepreneur must have?

I believe that self-confidence and strong organizational skills are the most important. In addition, effective cooperation with colleagues is essential, as technical work like this truly requires teamwork.

What was the biggest motivation that led you to take this step?

The gap in the market and the opportunity within this project motivated me the most. A professional drilling rig is an extremely expensive investment, and since there are so few of these machines available in the region, I felt confident in moving forward. The demand has already proven me right: even though the business is just launching, my schedule is already fully booked until May.

Where did you learn about this opportunity, and how is the social dimension reflected in the project?

I noticed the opportunity through my local network and was then directed to specialists who helped me start the application process. Since well drilling is a costly investment, I have made it my social mission to support foundations or individuals in need who lack a proper water supply. Each year, I will provide one free drilling and one at half price, along with other discounts for those for whom water access is a vital necessity.

What message do you have for those who are just starting out on the entrepreneurial path?

My advice is not to start a business in a field where the market is already saturated. Conduct thorough market research, find the gaps, and invest there! If there is a real demand, be brave and go for it—it’s not rocket science, and the hard work will definitely pay off.
