This time, we bring you the story of Bartha Márta, who, together with her son, is launching a business in Covasna County focused on the production and installation of energy-efficient doors and windows – modern solutions that help reduce energy consumption and create comfortable, sustainable homes.

Tell us a bit about yourself and your business!

The idea came after noticing the growing demand for energy-efficient carpentry and construction materials that meet passive house standards. Together with my son, we want to produce windows and doors that are not only visually appealing but also provide superior thermal and sound insulation, reducing maintenance and heating costs. Our goal is to offer local residents modern, affordable, and durable solutions that meet today’s energy efficiency needs.

What qualities do you think are essential for an entrepreneur?

First of all, courage. You need to trust in what you’re doing and not be discouraged by economic conditions or initial challenges. Perseverance, adaptability, and a healthy dose of boldness are essential to move forward. Beyond that, professionalism and honest, transparent communication with clients are key to building a long-lasting business.

Where did you hear about this opportunity, and how will you use the funding?

I discovered the SES Program through posts shared on social media. After looking into it in more detail, I decided to apply. The financial support will be used to purchase modern tools and equipment, high-quality installation materials, and to improve our workshop infrastructure, allowing us to deliver work that meets European energy efficiency standards.

How does social responsibility appear in your business?

For us, it’s important that our work also benefits the community. We plan to support low-income families by replacing their damaged windows and doors free of charge or at significantly reduced costs. Through this initiative, we aim to help reduce heating expenses and improve living conditions by preventing mold and minimizing heat loss.

What message would you give to those who want to start a business?

Study the market carefully, plan your steps thoroughly, but don’t wait too long to begin. Fear and uncertainty are part of the process, but hard work and determination will clear the path. With patience, confidence, and consistency, any good idea can grow into a successful business.
