This time, we bring you the story of Emőke – Mónika Crăciun, who is launching a unique business. She creates custom indoor and outdoor furniture from metal and wood, infusing every piece with her creative passion.
Please introduce yourself and tell us about your business!
I am launching a business specializing in outdoor and indoor furniture, as well as gates, using metal and wood materials. I am a highly creative individual who loves both the design process and bringing those designs to life. My goal was to create unique, custom-made pieces that go beyond mass-produced items. For me, every single piece carries its own unique story.
What qualities do you think an entrepreneur must have?
Above all, courage and creativity are needed, but the most important thing is the desire to create. Nowadays, we buy everything ready-made off the shelf, but it is rare for someone to manufacture something with heart and soul. For example, when I make a bench for a young child, I already imagine during the production process how they will sit in it and the joy it will bring them. This emotional “extra” is what defines a true creator.
What was your biggest motivation for starting this business?
This is a very old plan of mine that I have wanted to realize for a long time. Until now, a lack of financial resources stood in my way, so this funding opportunity is a huge help for me to finally stand on my own two feet.
How did you hear about this opportunity, and how does the social mission appear in your project?
I heard about the opportunity through a friend and knew immediately that I had to take it. My social mission is multifaceted: on one hand, I want to provide jobs and professional skills to disadvantaged individuals, and on the other, I am planning special activities for children. I want them to come to my workshop to participate in furniture painting or other handicraft workshops. Through restoring old furniture, they can experience the joy of creation and realize that they are capable of creating value themselves.
What message would you give to those who are thinking about starting a business now?
Have the courage to start and never give up on your dreams! Don’t believe that anything is impossible. You must have the will, start boldly, and take advantage of every opportunity that comes your way.
